Vintage Hand-Knotted Anatolian Wool Yastik
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Anatolian yastik. This nearly square wool mat is rendered in a palette of rust, camel, and black. It features an allover rectilinear pattern of boteh on a rust field, which includes eye motifs and other symbolic elements. Framing the field are compound, unresolved borders, including an almond blossom border and a medahil pattern. Selvedges are triple overcast, the rug finishing at either end with natural wool warp fringe. The rug is untagged.
