Item Details

A vintage, hand-knotted Gabbeh wool area rug. This plush rug is rendered in an variegated palette of rose, shades of blue, and mocha. It features five horizontal bands of cerulean or slate blue over a rose field. Framing the field is a mocha border that features alternating tree and gazelle forms in reds and blues. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with natural, undyed wool warp fringe. The rug is marked on the reverse; made in Iran.
