A handwoven Bakhtiari area rug. The rug features a classic Garden Compartment layout with tribal patterns, abstract medallions, and floral palmettes, and more that are contained in square compartments in a palette of cream, navy blue, deep green, and black that sits on top of a deep red field. The field is enclosed by a compound resolved border outside border that features a pattern of floral palmettes in a complementary palette with a short wool fringe to either end. The rug is tagged to the reverse.
