Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Heriz Serapi runner. This Indian-made wool rug features a classic rectilinear Heriz pattern amid a palette of madder red, black, and ivory. It features five medallions over a red field, which is populated with stylized palmettes, flowers, and vines, a crenellated inner border extending to the spandrels. The primary border contains a samovar pattern over black. Edges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short kilim skirts and ivory cotton warp fringe. The rug is tagged on the reverse.
