An oil painting on canvas of portraiture by listed artist Murat Kaboulov (1939 – 2010). This painting depicts a woman seated in front portraiture against thickly layered, darkened background which pushes her to the forefront. An artist signature and date (2009) are seen to the lower right corner of the composition. The canvas is wrapped over a wooden stretcher and features handwritten information to the verso. Russian-born artist Kaboulov studied at the prestigious Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia in the studio of Prof. E Moiseyenko and moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1992.
