An oil on canvas Landscape with Figures and Distant Farm by Otto Strutzel (1885-1930). This landscape depicts a pond in the foreground and figures beneath shade trees with a farm in the distance. The piece is signed by the artist and dated ‘1877’ in oil paint to the lower right. It is presented in an elegant gold tone and grey gesso and wood frame. Otto Strutzel is a listed German oil painter and professor of the late 19th and early 20th Century.
Condition
- to fair; moderate wear to edges of frame; some chips and cracks to frame; toned varnish; hole in canvas to top right corner; a black light reveals painting is dirty; slight crackling; no mat or glass.
