A hand-built pottery ‘Storyteller’ figurine by Cochiti Pueblo artist Mary O. Chalan. This piece depicts a Conchiti woman holding two children in her lap. It is rendered in black and umber paint and is signed ‘Mary O. Chalan, Cochiti, N.M.’ to the verso. Chalan (Cochiti, 1939 – ) is a well-listed Native American artist known for her pottery ‘Storyteller’ figurines.
