Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by listed artist Giuseppe Pitto (1857 – 1928), titled Market Scene. This painting depicts a bustling market populated with various vendors and shoppers, one of which is seen to the foreground wearing a red jacket and long dress while smiling and clutching at a basket filled with what appears to be vegetables. An artist signature is found to the lower right corner of the composition. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame featuring gessoed acanthus leaf patterning to the surface. To the verso is affixed hanging wire.

- mild edge wear on frame; mild stretcher marks; craquelure present; toned varnish.
