Gérard Passet Oil on Canvas Landscape"Village on a Hill"
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas titled Village on a Hill by French painter Gérard Passet (1936 – 2013). It depicts a hot summer day with a hazy sky filling most of the canvas above a hillside covered in yellowed grass. A church and other buildings dot the top of the hill and a cluster of red-roofed buildings nestle at its base. The painting is signed to the lower right and mounted with a white linen liner in a gilt wood frame that is wired for hanging. A label from Findlay Galleries in Chicago is attached to the back.
Condition
- varnish is somewhat yellowed; linen liner is slightly stained; minor scratches to the frame finish.
