A signed hand knotted Persian Kashan room size area rug. The vivid scarlet colored lozenge shaped field has decorations of arabesque vines, colorful palmettes, lancet leaves, and a lobed central medallion. A complex compound border with meandering palmette border encircle the field. A signature is present in a green, white, and red banded cartouche at top of rug. The piece is finished with a short cotton fringe. Unmarked.
