1940's Japanese Clown Figurines

A pair of delightful late 1930-1940’s Japanese clown figurines, whimsical and fun. The pair are glazed in a fantastic colorway of dark orange, bright yellow, spring green, and white, with bright blue ball accents. One silly clown is riding a pig, while the other, astride a drum, is laughing behind his hand at this porcine nonsense. Both pieces are marked to the base ‘Made in Japan’ with manufacturer’s mark.
