Friends bronze sculpture by August Moreau. This piece titled Friends depicts a boy and his dog frozen in the act of playing. The details of the sculpture are so fine that even the tiny wrinkles of the boy’s shirt and the ripples to the dog’s chest seem to barely be restrained by the casting of the metal. This piece rests upon a black marble base with a brass name plate and is marked to the right hand side on base with number 10/75 and artist signature. August Moreau (French 1834-1917) came from a family of artists and was well known and respected for the striking bronze sculptures he produced.
