Heinz Scholtz Oil on Copper of a Dutch Frozen River
Item Details
An oil painting on copper by German painter Heinz Scholtz (1925-). This Dutch genre work depicts a group of men in tall hats and period dress with hockey sticks upon a frozen river, bordered by crow-stepped gabled buildings. This work is signed in sgraffito in the lower left corner and presented within a painted wooden frame. with a fabric lined fillet. It is titled in the bottom left corner what appears to read ‘Winter’ however the second part is illegible.
Condition
- item shows some overall surface dirt; fillet is discolored; no dust cover; gallery stickers partially ripped from verso.
