Hand-Colored Lithograph Print on Paper after François Boucher "l'Obeissance Recompensee"
Item Details
A hand-colored lithograph print on paper titled l’Obeissance Recompensee after French painter François Boucher (1703-1770) and engraved by French engraver René Gaillard (1719-1770). This is a later re-strike of the 18th century original. The print depicts a dog standing on its hind legs patiently awaiting his reward, ’l’Obeissance Recompensee’ or ‘obedience reward.’ The work is presented under glass housed in a gold-toned molded gesso frame with wire hanger to the verso.

- some toning; foxing throughout; chips to composite detail of frame; wear and stains to frame.
