An oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist. This depicts a half-length portrait of a late 19th century woman, in profile. She is dress in black, with a white ruffled collar, and full skirt. Her face, framed by dark hair, is turned towards the view. It is unsigned and presented in a gold tone gesso frame.

- fair; edge wear on frame; black light reveals inpainting throughout; possible bitumen deformation; no hanging hardware present.
