Gouache Painting on Papyrus After Ancient Egyptian Wall Paintings
Item Details
A gouache painting on papyrus. In the style of Ancient Egyptian wall paintings, this depicts a processional of figures in profile above and below columns of black hieroglyphics. Along the bottom is a depiction of a throned pharaoh within a boat, and a recumbent jackal above four detailed hieroglyphics. This work is unsigned, and mounted to a white mat board. It is presented with a taupe mat and black liner, under glass in a wooden frame that is wired for hanging.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; papyrus is wrinkled.
