Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist. In the style of the Dutch Baroque, this depicts a pair of 17th-century men, dressed in cavalier hats, with rapiers at their sides. They sit at a tavern table, playing cards. This is unsigned and presented in a gesso and wooden frame.
Condition
- to fair; canvas is loose from frame at top and bottom; top left corner of canvas has scuffed paint; paint has faded down on right side of canvas; frame has cracks and missing gesso throughout; backing paper missing; frame does not have hanging hardware.
