An oil painting on canvas by Welsh painter Edward Thomas Jones (1828-1893). Titled Landscape this depicts a diminutive figure standing in the foreground before a large bolder, underneath the shade of an old tree. Idyllic rolling hills, dotted with sheep, spread into the distance. This work is signed on verso and presented within a dark gold tone wooden frame. Artist information is attached on verso.
Condition
- frame has scratches throughout and beginning to separate at corners; dent in canvas in upper right corner; inpainting in the tree and grass in lower left corner; canvas is loose in frame; stretcher frame leaving an indentation in canvas; gallery stickers adhered to verso.
