Early 20th Century Dresser With Mirror by Sligh Furniture

Item Details

An early 20th century dresser with mirror by Sligh Furniture. A framed mirror is held in a carved bracket at the top. The serpentine mirror frame has carved details at the top right and left. It is attached to the top back of the dresser, and can be removed for easier transport. The top corners are carved with elaborate floral and foliage details. The top of the bow-front dresser has a scalloped edge, and is topped with a piece of custom-cut glass. Below is a center cabinet with two small flanking drawers, with three more dovetailed drawers below. The drawers are all fitted with locks that take a skeleton type key (key not included). The cabinet rests on curved, carved claw feet and is labeled to the back ‘Sligh Furniture Company Grand Rapids, Mich.’ The back is also stamped ‘Mahogany’.
