A painting on canvas signed ‘Benecke’ and attributed to listed American artist William Benecke (1934-2001). The piece, titled Manarola on the Via Dell’Amore, depicts a coastal scene, with buildings shown on a seaside cliff. The painting captures the Mediterranean landscape in pastel hues of blue, green, brown and pink. The image is signed in blue paint to the lower right. A label is adhered to the frame verso from W.T. Burger Company noting the work as an ‘Original Oil Painting, Registry No: 165642, Frame No: 7446+1 1/4’ F&C-RR Old, Order No: 01B-572’. The piece is presented without glass in a wooden frame with gold tone gesso embellishments. The frame verso includes a label with artist information.
