An oil painting on canvas signed ‘Benecke’. The piece, titled A Garden in Charleston, depicts a summer time seen at a large Southern estate, surrounded by large shade trees. The painting captures the South Carolina landscape in pastel hues of green, white, brown, lavender and red. The image is signed in cream paint to the lower left. A label is adhered to the frame verso from W.T. Burger Company noting the work as an ‘Original Oil Painting, Registry No: 163319, Frame No: 857 ORN+1 1/4’ F&C-305, Order No: 04C-10371’. The item is presented without glass in a wooden frame with gold tone gesso embellishments. The frame verso includes a label with artist information.
