Arno Lemke Oil Painting on Canvas "Village in WInter"
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by German painter Arno Lemke (1916-). Titled Village in Winter this depicts a snow topped village, with a tall church spire, surrounded by tall ervergreens, with a craggy mountain range below a blue sky in the distance. This work is signed in the lower right corner and presented within a gold tone wooden frame with a light blue velvet liner. Artist information is attached on verso.
Condition
- some yellowing to varnish; craquelure to white in the foreground and to roofs of buildings to left side; small stains to top and lower right corners; small chips to gesso detail of frame in mulitple areas, other wear to finish; wear and dust to velvet liner.
