A mid-19th century oil painting on canvas attributed to Liverpudlian artist Raymond Wilks. Titled Portrait of a Lady in an Interior this depicts a full-length portrait of a young woman, with dark ringlets, and a triple ruffled deep teal dress. She stands on a pattern rug, side a flower basket adorned side table, before a large sweep of a curtain with an iddylic pastoral landscape on the left. It is unsigned and presented within a gilt wooden frame. The stretcher reads ‘att to Raymond Wilks’ and artist information is attached on verso.
Condition
- paint is lightly cracking throughout canvas; some toning to the back of the canvas; backing paper has been removed.
