East Asian Painted and Embroidered Scrolls
Item Details
A pair of East Asian scrolls. This includes a gouache painting on paper hanging scroll depicting the Madonna and Child standing amidst sheep. It is mounted to paper with wooden knobs. This also includes a smaller scroll with an embroidered silk textile in the style of an album page, mounted to a paper. It has a red seal in the lower right corner. These are presented with an inscribed scroll case.
Condition
- hanging scroll is in poor condition with edge wear; it is heavily stained, buckled, scratched and toned; the embroidered scroll is in good condition with minor creases/folds, and minor edge wear.
