Hand-Knotted Pak-Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Pak-Persian area rug. This wool rug is woven in a palette of cherry red, navy, cerulean, and ivory. It features an allover classic herati pattern on a red field with a small navy star medallion at the center. Framing the field are four borders, including a primary border that alternates mother and daughter boteh with stylized palmettes. A pair of meandering carnation guard strips flank the primary border. Selvedges are overcast in red, the rug finishing at either end with knotted ivory wool warp fringe. The rug is unmarked.
