A rare first edition entitled Vita D.N. Iesu Christi Ex Verbis Evangeliorum In Ipsismet Concinnata. Written by R.P. Bartholomaeum Riccium (1490-1569), Societatis Iesu Castrifidardo, this rare volume on the life of Christ was published in Rome by Barthol. Zanettum with a 1607 copyright date. Bound in full vellum with thongs, this volume features 160 etchings and two foldout maps illustrating the city of Jerusalem and the Promised Land. The original text and etchings are printed on laid paper with full page illustrations on the left and facing explanatory text on the right. The spine is hand labeled Ricci Vita L. Christi. The fore edges are dyed mottled in red and black. This volume also features an index of the gospels, interpretations of names, and the table of contents.

Water marks are visible, tears to the maps, pages are loose, and tears to the spine hinges are evident but are consistent with the age of the book.
