An offset lithograph after an original folk art painting by well-listed American naïve religious folk artist, poet, and musician Reverend Howard Finster (Alabama/Georgia, 1916 – 2001), titled Oil Lamp. The print depicts a bright oil lamp with busy illustrations of plants and angels collaged across its surface. The words, ‘Keep oil in the lamp, Let your light so shine’ is written across the lamp. The print is signed in-plate to the lower edge of the illustration, and the artist’s signature is stamped to the lower margin.
