A print on leather after an 1899 oil painting by listed American artist Charlies Marion Russell (1864-1926). The image, titled The Hold Up (20 Miles to Deadwood), depicts a stage coach robbery in action. In the print, an outlaw points a rifle toward a group of frightened travelers; a sign hanging from a nearby tree reads ‘20 Miles to Deadwood’, set above a $1000 reward sign for a wanted criminal. The print features black ink on brown leather, with white painted embellishments. The unframed image is signed and dated in plate to the lower left and presented mounted to cardboard.
