Item Details

A bonded marble sculpture on lucite base by listed American artist Jeffery Hall (b. 1956). The sculpture depicts two ethereal, god-like women in harmony with a planet or moon like spherical form. The spherical form appears with distinct craters and surrounded by a sort of cosmic energy. Incised signature to the verso reads, ‘J. Hall’ and dated 2003. The sculpture is a limited edition Artist’s Proof 3 out of 10 edition as indicated below the signature. The sculpture is mounted to circular lucite stand.

Jeffery L. Hall was born in Detroit, MI and received his BFA, Cum Lauda, in 1984 From the Maryland Institute college of Art, Baltimore Maryland. Hall is often noted for his stylistic similarities with American sculptor Frederick Hart (1943-1999) whom he knew quite well. After Harts passing in 1999, Hall continued to realize Hart’s works in progress until 2007, working for the Hart estate. Hall’s sculptures can be found on government buildings, churches and estates, including two commissions for the US capitol building, The Park Potomac building, the Turkish Embassy residence and the Washington National Cathedral, Washington DC.
