Item Details

A selection of antique leaves. Included is a leaf from a medieval manuscript rendered in a gothic textura miniscule, likely dating from the 14th-15th centuries. The black text is embellished with red and blue ink highlighting capitals and marginalia details. Also included are two 16th century hand-illuminated printed leaves on parchment from Gerard Jansen’s Ten Treaties Concerning the [Catholic] Church. These pages are located in plastic sleeves with a certificate of authenticity from a previous seller. They have white matting with red-pink trim in a black and gilded metallic frame with sawtooth hooks to verso.

- rippling to pages under glass; foxing; staining.
