1840s Mahogany Empire Secretary Desk

An 1840s Empire secretary desk with a mahogany veneer. This desk has a bookcase top with interior shelves, three small drawers with wood pulls, and pigeonhole compartments. The bottom desk portion has a fold-down writing surface with a green felt covering, inkwell compartments, three drawers, scrolled legs and turned bun-style back legs.

Condition

- to poor. Considerable termite damage to both the bookcase and the desk, however, not noticeable on the front or desktop. Green felt on the writing surface is torn.
