A Gabby Hartnett testimonial dinner booklet. The dinner took place at the Grand Ball Room in the Stevens Hotel in 1939, Chicago, Illinois. They honor Gabby as a great Major League catcher and manager. Even though Gabby wasn’t born in Chicago, he was considered a ‘Chicago Institution’. Some of the speakers at the dinner included George Halas and Charles Root (Cubs pitcher who gave up the home run to Babe Ruth in the 1932 World Series).
