Custom-Made Four-Poster Canopy Bed

Item Details

A vintage custom-made queen size four-poster canopy bed. The hand-crafted bed is made of a dark stained hardwood, likely cherry or maple. It features a high headboard with scroll cut sides, and four tall, round turned wood posters topped with round wood finials. The canopy frame is also made of wood, with a matching finial in the center of the canopy frame top. The bed comes with side rails, and seven wood slats to support a mattress set (mattress and box springs not included). The bed is dated 1971, and is signed to the back of the headboard by the craftsman, though the signature is not legible. Also included with the bed is a white crocheted canopy, which is trimmed with white tassels. The back of the headboard is marked ‘Designed & Custom Made…by [undecipherable] of Pittsburg, Ks. In The Year of Our Lord 1971’.
