Tibetan Brass Figurine of a Monk or Lama with Double-Vajra Mark

Item Details

A vintage Tibetan brass figurine of a kneeling and bearded lama or monk. The underside appears to bear a double-vajra mark. This mark is usually found on the bottoms of Tibetan bronzes and is generally a sign that the piece has been consecrated for use in a temple. This small hooded figure bears the mark on the base. It is not clear whether it is a tool for impressing the mark on other objects or simply has been itself marked with the symbol.

Condition

There is some wear to the piece from use.
