A set of two framed offset lithographs after original 19th and early 20th century watercolor paintings by well-listed American artist Winslow Homer (1836-1910). Featured is an offset lithograph print after Homer’s 1900 watercolor titled The Rise. The image depicts a fisherman in a small boat upon a river, his pole held over one shoulder. The print is signed and dated in plate to the lower right. Also featured is an offset lithograph print after an 1892 watercolor sketch for Homer’s oil painting titled Hound and Hunter. The image depicts a young hunter in a boat, securing a dead deer as his dog swims alongside. The print is signed, dated and inscribed in plate to the lower margin. Both prints are matted in beige linen and presented under glass in wooden frames with hanging wire to the verso. Condition
- scratching and wear to both frames with age; some discoloration and thread-pulling to linen liners; small holes to paper backing of each; linen liner is off-center in “Hound and Hunter”; fading to prints with age; print and cardboard frame backing have come loose from “Hound and Hunter” frame.
