Vintage Nakashima Walnut Dining Armchairs With Provenance

Item Details

A group of four vintage Nakashima walnut dining armchairs with provenance. The walnut frames feature curved, continuous crests with raised centers above spindle supports and contoured seats rising on turned and splayed legs joined by box stretchers. Three of the chairs are signed ‘Nakashima’, two of which are dated ‘September 30, 1994’. The third is dated ‘April 1996’. One chair has a stamped ‘Nakashima’ signature. All four are marked ‘Metcalf’.

Provenance: Two of the chairs come with the original invoice from August 1994 as well as a carbon copy of the initial order letter.
