An antique engraving by Anthony Cardon (1772-1813) after a painting by Francis Wheatly (1747-1801). This engraving is part of a series titled Cries of London and is plate number eight out of thirteen. The title for this plate is, Round and Sound Fivepence a Pound Duke Cherries and depicts a family with a bunch of bright red cherries dressed in period clothing. The title and artists names can be found outside of the plate at the lower portion. This piece is housed behind glass with a thin wooden frame, the verso shows writing about the artwork.

Condition

Condition is consistent with age and shows discoloration to the edges and the glass has a crack in lower left corner.
