Pine Blanket Chest From the Imelda Marcos Estate

Item Details

A pine blanket chest from the Imelda Marcos estate. This piece features dovetail construction and is hand carved and hand crafted. The top is hinged and features an unmarked brass tag. To the interior is a removable wooden tray. The piece stands on a beveled molded base. A tag to the interior reads ‘Wellesley Guild’. The chest was purchased from Lloyd’s Antiques and Auctions in July of 1996 from a sale featuring items from the Imelda Marcos estate. Imelda Marcos was the First Lady of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986.
