Item Details
An original oil painting on board, attributed to well-listed American artist Richard Allan George (Illinois/Ohio, 1935 – 1990), titled Couple. A sales receipt included from Malton Gallery, who represents the artist, is attached to the verso and states the painting is his. The painting is also coherent with the artist’s body of work. The painting is unsigned, however, and ‘JANE P 97’ is written to the board’s verso beneath the frame’s backing. The painting depicts a dark, hazy image of a nude couple embracing. It is presented in a composite frame with cast surface embellishments, off-white linen lining, and brushed gold tone finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
