Item Details

A set of unframed exhibition posters. The Braque poster is a lithograph, and the other three items are offset lithographs. A poster for the ‘The Armand Hammer Collection: Five Centuries of Masterpieces’ 1980 exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., bears the full-length lithograph after the painting titled Dr. Pozzi at Home, 1881 by John Singer Sargent (1856-1925). The poster for a 1953 Georges Braque (1882-1963) exhibit at the Berggruen & Cie Gallery in Paris is an offset lithograph after a Braque engraving with the initials ‘G.B.’ signed in the plate to the lower right. The matching pair of posters for the 1954 Easter festival in Vence, France, where Marc Chagall (1887-1985) lived, are titled ‘Vence – Cité des Arts et des Fleurs – Fêtes de Pâques – 1954’. The illustration depicts a couple standing among village buildings with colorful branches of flowers. Each poster has white margins.
