1891 Henry M. Stanley "In Darkest Africa" in Two Volumes

A two-volume edition of explorer Henry M. Stanley’s In Darkest Africa; or the Quest, Rescue and Retreat of Emin, Governor of Equatoria. The first volume was published in 1890 and the second in 1891 by Charles Scribner’s Sons of New York. Both volumes are black clothbound hardcovers with impressed and gilt cover decoration, and the work is illustrated ‘With Two Steel Engravings, and One Hundred and Fifty Illustrations and Maps’.
