An original 2016 handmade paper collage with deckled edges by contemporary Ohio artist Sylvia Thompson Outland (born 1949), titled Collage I. The piece depicts an abstracted composition made of tiny, fibrous bits of brightly colored papers layered together in a mottled, soft patch of texture. The collage is signed by Outland to the lower right. It is float-mounted within deep violet faux suede mat, protected under glass in a textured champagne-tone brushed metal frame, equipped to hang. The verso is marked again by the artist with name and title. Outland is best known for her depictions of historic buildings and landmarks in Warren County, Ohio, where she currently lives and works.
