An ink drawing on paper titled Society Bird by listed American artist Bob Guccione (New York, 1930 – 2010). This work features three drawings of birds, two of which are full-body illustrations rendered in blue ink with flamboyant crests, and one of which is rendered in brown ink with only the head illustrated. ‘Society Bird’ is handwritten in blue in the middle. The drawing is not signed; it is not mounted and remains unframed.

Bob Guccione began his artist endeavors during 1949 when he traveled to Italy with basic paint supplies and a few dollars. Despite never receiving formal artist training he premiered his artwork at the Nassau County Museum of Art and the Butler Institute of American Art. Many of his original sketches and painting were created during his time traveling through Rome, Paris, and London during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Later in life, he founded Penthouse Magazine which halted his career as an artist.
