An original artist’s proof etching on Arches paper, designed and signed in pencil by well-listed and prolific Spanish Surrealist, Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), titled Behold, Thou Art Fair from his series Song of Songs of Solomon. The image depicts contour line renderings of emotive human faces layered on top of a wide-eyed bird, below which a naked figure rides a horse through golden vegetation. The print is marked EA (French abbreviation for artist’s proof) and signed by the artist in pencil to the lower margin; mounted under white mat, behind museum glass in a beveled wood frame with a gold leaf finish.
