Pair of Handbuilt Raku Fired Stoneware Platters
Item Details
A pair of handbuilt, raku-fired stoneware platters. Both circular platters feature geometric designs with a variety of applied, ‘quilted’ and impressed textures. They feature muted, semi-matte glazes in tawny brown, honey amber, turquoise and mottled reds. The smaller platter is signed on the back ‘S Hill 95’ and the larger plate is unmarked. Each rests on an applied clay slab ring foot, and the undersides show evidence of the raku firing with carbon trapping marks. Please note these items are not safe for liquid food use.
Condition
- the small plate has a crack towards the lower edge. please note these items are not safe for liquid food use as the glazes may leach.
