Item Details

An original large-scale oil painting on canvas titled Lunch on the Veranda by listed Cincinnati-based artist, Susan Schuler, circa 2000. This non-objective composition depicts a slurry of black pigment into pale, lemony turquoise, edges oscillating in and out of focus and transitioning to saturated viridian and cobalt, with an understated yet dominant force of cadmium red near the center. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower left and marked to the verso. This unframed work is equipped with a hanging wire to the verso. Schuler enrolled in the Cincinnati Art Academy in 1998 and developed her aesthetic while studying painting with the formidable Jack Meanwell, Kim Krause, and Stewart Goldman.
