A two-volume set of ‘The Compact Edition’ of the Oxford English Dictionary. There are two volumes: Volume I A-O and Volume II P-Z. Published by the Oxford University Press in 1974. 1974 was the fourth printing in the United States of the 1971 Compact Edition. The two volumes fit into a blue case. At the top of the case is a pull-out drawer that contains a Bausch and Lomb rectangular reader magnifying glass.
