Victorian B. Shoninger Pump Organ

A Victorian B. Shoninger pump organ, made in New Haven, CT., in the late 19th century or early 20th century. This organ has a carved pediment, slide-out pierced panel with a lyre and floral motif, circular floral medallions, candle shelves, and a pierced Eastlake-style floral design where the sheet music is placed. The stops on the organ are labeled as follows: Melodia, Dulcet Bass, Vox Humana, Dulcet Treble, Celeste, Violin, and Viola, with two labels being unrecognizable because of wear. The lower portion of the organ features two cabinet doors, turned half columns, and needlepoint upholstered foot pedals with ‘B.S.’ iron mounts.

Condition

- to fair. Keyboard cover is loose with wear to the stop labels. There is also a stain on the outside of the cover. Missing knob on cabinet door. Wear to fabric on pedals. Untested.
