Vintage Geoffrey Beene New York Dress

A vintage Geoffrey Beene dress. The long sleeve dress is made of black woven silk sprinkled with small gold stars.It has a full length opening down the back which buttons with black and gold tone metal buttons with stars in the center. The front is plain, with a rounded neckline and princess pleats on the bodice which end in pleats at the waist. The pleats conceal pockets. The dress is fully lined. A length of ribbon has been sewn into the interior at the waist so that the fit may be adjusted. The padded shoulders are rounded and the sleeves are part of the bodice. Zippers close the cuffs. There are no size, materials, or care labels. The bust measurement suggests an approximate 8/10.

Measured flat, the measurement at the underarms is 17.5". Length from top of back opening to hem is 42.5".
