Yurimoto Keiko Shin-hanga Woodblock Prints From "The Life of Japanese Children" Series

A set of two 1960s shin-hanga woodblock prints on paper by artist Yurimoto Keiko (由里本景子, Japan, 1906). The prints originate from her series titled The Life of Japanese Children. Featured are Stilts in Snow and Child Carrying Wood, each accented in hues of blue, pink, brown, grey and cream. The works are each signed in Japanese calligraphy to the lower margin, with a red printer’s seal below. The prints are matted in white and presented together under glass in a black wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. The frame backing includes a mid-century sticker from Minato gallery of Yokohama Japan, as well as a stamped date of October 30, 1961.

- surface scratches and chips to finish of frame; dust and debris present to mat under glass; torn adhesive to edges of frame backing; mid-century gallery sticker affixed to frame verso; some toning to prints and mat with age.
